Biography:    May/Mary McCullough was raised in Hydetown and born in approximately 1864. She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Queen City Lodge of the Ladies of the Macabees.

She was married to Postmaster William McCullough and died at only 33 years old in 1898 of neuralgia of the heart. She was not ailing before her death. While sweeping the house, she took a moment to rest. Upon sitting down, she died instantly. One of her children approached her and found that she was unresponsive and ran to alert the grandmother. A doctor was called, but May could not be resuscitated.

May McCullough was survived by her husband, mother, and four children, two girls and two boys.
