Biography:    Jonathan Browne Reynolds was born in 1810 on a farm in Troy Township, Crawford County, PA.

He was married twice. The first time he was married to Julia A. Armstrong. J.B. and Julia had seven children: John Reynolds (1831 – ?), Mary Reynolds (1834 – ?), Jonathan J. Reynolds (1835 – 1908), Joseph Armstrong Reynolds (1842 – 1915), Eveline Reynolds (1838 – ?), Charlotte Reynolds Grove (1839 – 1924), and Henry Reynolds (1843 – ?). Julia died in December 1843.

J.B.’s second marriage was to Eliza Jane Titus Reynolds, the niece of Titusville’s founder Jonathan Titus. Together they had eight children: Simon Samuel Reynolds (1850 – 1929), Alva Wilder Reynolds (1852 – 1922), Martha Jane Reynolds Wilson (1852 – 1918), Emma Reynolds Wilson Welsh (1856 – 1944), Amanda Ellen Reynolds Morse (1865 – 1943), Crawford Carl Reynolds (1860 – 1895), David Clemens Reynolds (1865 – 1946), and Charles Lynn Reynolds (1870 – 1940).

He died at age 87 in 1895 on the farm where he was born.
