Biography: Gasker Dutton was born August 9, 1833 in Weathersfield, New York. He came to Hydetown in 1871 where he made his home for the rest of his life. He was known as an honest man. He had heart trouble for several years and failed quickly, dying on August 28, 1897.
Vianne Dutton was a life-long resident of Hydetown Borough, born in April 13, 1839 in Ellery, New York to Martin (1808 – 1853) and Catherine Van Wagenen Young (1813 – 1885). Her family moved to Hydetown when she was only two years old.
On December 13, 1860 she married Henry Grove of Wyoming County, New York, but he died only two years later. Ten years later, or on November 18, 1872, she married Gasker Dutton. She was involved in the Hydetown Grange and the W.C.T.U.
She died January 16, 1927. She was well-liked and a member of the Hydetown Baptist Church.
Gasker and Vianne adopted their niece, Nellie Gilson, in 1886. Nellie lived with her aunt and uncle until she got married at age fifteen.
